Sir Gareth Southgate Custom Fitting at Ilkley Golf Club

We were delighted to welcome Sir Gareth Southgate to Glen Ient Golf at Ilkley Golf Club for a professional custom fitting.

Using our TrackMan 4 technology, we were able to analyse Gareth’s ball flight, club delivery and performance to find an equipment set-up suited specifically to his game.

It was fantastic to see Gareth return to Ilkley Golf Club for the Yorkshire Invitational this year — and even better to see him still using and enjoying the clubs we fitted for him.

For us, that is exactly what a good custom fitting should achieve.

Custom fitting isn’t simply about trying the latest equipment. It’s about understanding the golfer, analysing accurate performance data and finding the right combination of clubhead, shaft, loft, lie and specification to help them perform with greater confidence on the course.

The event brought together junior teams from Ilkley, Ganton, Moortown, Fulford and Bradford, with six players representing each club and the best five Stableford scores counting towards the team total. Despite this, the Ilkley team produced an excellent all-round performance to finish with 155 points, ahead of hosts Bradford in second place and Moortown in third. There were also some outstanding individual performances from the Ilkley team. Dylan recorded the best individual Stableford score of the day with 37 points, while Zac produced the best gross score of the competition.
