Meet Glen Ient – PGA Head Professional
Based at the prestigious Ilkley Golf Club in West Yorkshire, Glen Ient is a fully qualified PGA Professional with extensive experience in golf coaching, custom club fitting, player development and golf retail.
Having previously worked at Romanby Golf Club, Catterick Golf Club and Sand Moor Golf Club, Glen joined Ilkley Golf Club as Head Professional in January 2025, bringing with him a passion for developing golfers and delivering a modern, personalised approach to the game.
Through Glen Ient Golf (GI Golf), Glen and his team offer a comprehensive range of professional golf services to members and visiting golfers from Ilkley, Leeds and across West Yorkshire.
A Modern Approach to Golf Coaching
Glen believes that great golf coaching goes beyond simply improving a golfer’s swing.
Every golfer is different, and understanding their individual strengths, weaknesses, physical capabilities and ambitions is central to achieving lasting improvement.
His coaching combines traditional PGA expertise with modern technology, including TrackMan 4 launch monitor analysis, video feedback and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) assessments.
Whether working with a complete beginner, a developing junior or an experienced competitive golfer, Glen focuses on making improvements that translate into better performance on the golf course.
The aim isn’t simply to produce a better golf swing. It’s to help you play better golf.
Indoor, Outdoor and On-Course Golf Lessons in Ilkley
One of the biggest advantages of coaching with Glen is the ability to develop your game in different environments.
At Ilkley Golf Club, golfers benefit from access to a dedicated indoor TrackMan Performance Centre, excellent outdoor practice facilities and on-course coaching.
This allows Glen to analyse a player’s technique indoors, develop their skills outdoors and assess how those improvements perform under real playing conditions.
From driving and iron play to short-game performance, course management and scoring strategy, every aspect of a golfer’s game can be developed.
PGA Coaching, TPI and Custom Club Fitting
Alongside his PGA qualifications, Glen is TPI Certified and SuperSpeed Certified, allowing him to incorporate physical screening, movement assessments and speed development into his coaching.
As a Titleist Staff Ambassador, Glen also works closely with leading golf manufacturers to provide professional custom club fitting.
Using TrackMan technology, golfers can test equipment, understand their performance and make informed decisions about the clubs best suited to their game.
Importantly, custom fitting isn’t restricted to hitting shots indoors. Equipment can also be assessed outdoors and in real playing conditions.
Developing the Next Generation of Golfers
Junior development is a major part of Glen’s work at Ilkley Golf Club.
Alongside the GI Golf coaching team, Glen supports junior coaching programmes, school partnerships and the Ilkley Golf College programme in partnership with Ilkley Grammar School.
The focus is on creating opportunities for young golfers to develop their skills, enjoy the game and progress towards their individual ambitions, whether that’s obtaining their first handicap, representing their club or pursuing competitive golf and college opportunities.
More Than Just the Pro Shop
Since joining Ilkley Golf Club, Glen has continued to develop the services available through GI Golf.
From professional coaching and custom fitting to the TrackMan Performance Centre, junior development programmes and digital performance statistics, the aim is to provide golfers with a complete service.
By combining traditional PGA values with modern technology and a dedicated professional team, Glen is committed to making golf more accessible, enjoyable and rewarding.
