Archie’s First Professional Win!

On Saturday morning, Archie returned to competitive golf for the first time in over a year, teeing it up in the Bradford Moor Annual Charity Open. Understandably, there were a few nerves standing on the first tee - a feeling that had clearly been missed after such a long break from competition.

Played in hot and windy conditions, with some very challenging pin positions throughout the course (the 18th green being a perfect example), it was never going to be an easy day. Despite that, Archie produced a composed and controlled performance, carding a superb level-par 70.

He made an excellent start, remaining bogey-free through the opening 11 holes. Although very few putts seemed willing to drop all day, he stayed patient, avoided costly mistakes, and kept his round together brilliantly.

The steady approach paid off, with a one-shot victory to lift the trophy. It's a fantastic result and, more importantly, a real confidence boost after such a long spell away from competitive golf. It was great to see him back competing, and hopefully this is the first of many more strong performances to come.

  • Pro’s Competition Winners Secure Luxury Golf Trips to Turkey

    Following a fantastic Yorkshire Invitational Week at Ilkley Golf Club, we’re delighted to congratulate the winners of our special Pro’s Competition. Men’s Winner – Mushtaq Khokhar | 42 points Ladies’ Winner – Vicki Braithwaite | 38 points Both winners have secured an incredible luxury golf break to Turkey, including four nights at the Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Spa and three rounds of golf at Dalaman Golf Club. A huge thank you to GOLF MAD for generously providing both prizes and to John Dent for his support in making the competition possible. The competition was a fantastic addition to a memorable week of golf at Ilkley, giving our members the opportunity to compete for two exceptional prizes. We’re also excited to be developing our relationship with GOLF MAD, with opportunities for future overseas coaching trips and Pro-Ams currently being explored.   • Ilkley Juniors Win the Junior Quaich at Bradford Golf Club

    A fantastic end to the season for our junior golfers as Ilkley Golf Club won the annual Junior Quaich at Bradford Golf Club. The event brought together junior teams from Ilkley, Ganton, Moortown, Fulford and Bradford, with six players representing each club and the best five Stableford scores counting towards the team total. Conditions were extremely challenging, with strong winds making scoring difficult throughout the day. Despite this, the Ilkley team produced an excellent all-round performance to finish with 155 points, ahead of hosts Bradford in second place and Moortown in third. There were also some outstanding individual performances from the Ilkley team. Dylan recorded the best individual Stableford score of the day with 37 points, while Zac produced the best gross score of the competition. To round off the day, Captain Jack had the pleasure of lifting yet another trophy for Ilkley, bringing a brilliant season of junior golf to a fitting conclusion. It was a genuine team performance, with every player contributing and showing great golf, determination and fighting spirit in difficult conditions. The victory is another fantastic result for junior golf at Ilkley Golf Club and a great reflection of the progress being made by our young golfers. Congratulations to the whole team — a brilliant achievement and very well deserved!
